Skyart Browser Privacy Policy

Version 1.1 · Updated: October 31, 2026 · Effective: October 31, 2026
Developer and data controller: Zou Fengyu (邹丰宇)

Summary
Skyart Browser does not require an account, contains no ads, and does not integrate advertising, user-profiling, or third-party analytics SDKs. We do not actively collect your name, phone number, identity documents, contacts, precise location, photos, camera, or microphone data. Bookmarks, browsing history, settings, and download details are stored on your device by default. Data is sent to third parties only when you choose to visit a website, search, translate a page, download a file, or use magnet/BT downloads.

1. Scope and data controller

This policy applies to Skyart Browser (package name com.skyart.browser, the “App”). The developer and data controller is Zou Fengyu (邹丰宇) (“we”, “us”). This policy explains how we handle information and the rights you have.

The App has no account system, cloud sync, or remote backup. We do not operate servers that store your browsing history, bookmarks, downloads, or site data, and we cannot remotely access, read, or restore that data.

2. Information we do not actively collect

We do not actively collect or require the following information for the browsing service:

  • Name, phone number, identity-document number, postal address, or similar identity information;
  • Contacts, SMS, call logs, photos, camera, or microphone content;
  • Precise location (GPS);
  • Advertising identifiers (OAID/IDFA), IMEI, MAC address, or similar persistent device identifiers;
  • Behavioral data used for advertising, profiling, or cross-app tracking.

The App does not require real-name verification and does not integrate advertising, push-notification, or third-party crash-reporting SDKs. GeckoView telemetry is not enabled. Android, app stores, or device manufacturers may process installation, update, payment, review, or system-log information under their own privacy policies; we do not control that processing.

The App does not provide personalized recommendations, targeted push notifications, or personalized advertising, and does not profile you or use your search or browsing history for precision marketing. No personalization opt-out switch is therefore required.

3. Data stored only on your device

3.1 Local data

  • Bookmarks: URLs and titles you choose to save;
  • Recent history: up to eight entries shown on the home screen; not recorded in private mode;
  • Settings: language, theme, font and display size, search engine, content-blocking level, download settings, custom background image URI, and similar preferences;
  • Downloads: download-task details, downloaded or in-progress files, magnet links, and torrent metadata. Files are usually saved in the system Downloads folder or the App's external files directory;
  • Site data: cookies, site storage, cache, and media cache stored locally by GeckoView as requested by websites;
  • Private mode: private sessions use GeckoView's private-browsing configuration and do not retain this session's browsing history or site data; files already downloaded to the device remain.

This data stays on your device by default. You can delete it through Settings → Privacy & Security → Clear browsing data, or Settings → Storage & performance → Clear space. Uninstalling the App deletes data in the App's private directories; files saved in the public Downloads folder must be deleted separately in your system file manager.

3.2 Daily automatic cleanup

The App may silently clean web caches and temporary files at most once per day to control storage usage. Automatic cleanup does not delete bookmarks, browsing history, cookies, sign-in state, or downloaded files, and it does not show notifications. The cleanup is scheduled through Android's job scheduler after the App starts. Apart from that, the App does not self-start, launch other apps, or open screens automatically in the background. If you do not want this feature, please stop using the App.

4. Where data goes when you go online

A browser is a networking tool. Your requests do not pass through our servers; they go directly to the websites you visit or the services you choose. The following scenarios involve data transmission:

4.1 Websites and search

When you visit a page, the URL, page requests, cookies, IP address, device and browser identifiers (User Agent), and similar information are sent to the website. The website handles that data under its own privacy policy. When you search from the address bar, your search terms are sent to the search engine selected in Settings (Bing, Google, or DuckDuckGo). We do not control how third-party websites or search engines process data.

Search suggestions: As you type in the address bar, the App sends the current input to the selected search engine (Bing, Google, or DuckDuckGo) so it can return suggestions. Suggestions are not requested in private mode. Suggestion requests do not include bookmarks, history, or device identifiers.

Autofill: When autofill is enabled, the App only exposes web-form fields to Android's autofill framework; the system password manager or autofill service you choose handles the fill data. We do not upload, read, or store passwords or form contents you enter.

4.2 Page translation

When you choose Translate, the built-in translation extension reads the current page's text and sends the text to be translated, the source and target languages, and related request data to MyMemory (operated by Translated SRL). Do not translate pages containing identity documents, bank-card details, passwords, or other sensitive information. Traditional Chinese conversion uses the OpenCC dictionary locally on your device.

4.3 Encrypted DNS and Safe Browsing

When network security protection is enabled, the App resolves domain names through AliDNS (DNS-over-HTTPS), so your domain queries are sent to AliDNS. When Safe Browsing is enabled, GeckoView may send processed URL information (such as hash prefixes) to the Safe Browsing provider to determine whether a link is malicious. Turning off network security or Safe Browsing stops those requests. Blocking lists may be updated by upstream providers such as Mozilla.

4.4 Downloads, magnet, and BT

Regular downloads connect directly to the file's server and send the file address, request headers, and your IP address; multithreaded downloads make multiple range requests to the same server. Magnet or BT downloads exchange metadata and pieces through DHT, trackers, and other peers. During this process, your IP address, port, and the torrent information being exchanged may be visible to other participants, and downloaded pieces may be uploaded to peers. You can disable P2P/BT in Settings → Download settings. Only download content you are entitled to obtain and comply with the laws of your jurisdiction.

4.5 Reader mode, media detection, and the player

Reader mode fetches and parses page content locally; media detection scans the page for media addresses locally; the built-in player requests audio/video data directly from the media URL. These features do not send page content to our servers. The player is intended for media that is not protected by digital rights management (DRM) and does not bypass DRM.

5. Permissions and local capabilities

The App and its dependencies declare the following permissions in the Android manifest. Except for network access, each permission is requested through the system dialog when you use the related feature; declining does not affect browsing or bookmarks:

PermissionPurposeWhen requestedIf declined

DYNAMIC_RECEIVER_NOT_EXPORTED_PERMISSIONAndroidX internal signature-level permission restricting dynamic broadcast receiversInside the AppNo impact

The App does not request contacts, SMS, call logs, notifications, all-files access, or accessibility permissions. Custom backgrounds and data import use the system file picker; downloads are saved through the system media store or the App's dedicated directory without storage permission; camera, microphone, and location are requested only for scanning or page features and are granted to HTTPS sites only.

6. Third-party services and sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information or share it with advertisers. The table below lists third-party services that may be involved when you use specific features. Except as required by law or a valid legal process, we do not proactively provide your information to third parties.

These third parties may be located outside your country or region. By using the relevant feature, you understand and agree that related data will be sent to those services. If you do not agree, do not use translation, a particular search engine, or P2P downloads, or turn off the relevant feature in Settings.

6.1 Third-party SDKs and bundled components

For store and regulatory verification, the following components ship with the App. Except where marked as networked, they run locally and upload nothing:

The App includes no advertising, analytics, push, crash-reporting, hot-update, or social-sharing SDKs.

7. Sale, transfer, and public disclosure

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We will not publicly disclose it except in the following circumstances:

  • You use a third-party feature and disclosure is necessary to provide that feature;
  • Disclosure is required by laws, regulations, or a mandatory order from a judicial or administrative authority;
  • Disclosure is necessary to protect the safety or property of you, others, or the public;
  • In a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, obligations are transferred as permitted by law.

Because we do not operate an account system or cloud data servers, we generally do not hold user personal information that could be disclosed.

8. Retention and deletion

Local data remains on your device until you delete it, clear it, or uninstall the App. Cache is reclaimed by the daily cleanup policy; recent history is limited to eight entries and older entries are replaced; downloaded files remain until you delete them in download management or your system file manager. We do not keep server-side copies, so we cannot delete data on your device on your behalf, and there is no cloud account data to request deletion for.

Accounts and deletion: The App does not offer account registration, login, cloud sync, or a membership account. There is therefore no account-cancellation process and no cloud account data to cancel. You can delete local data at any time through Settings → Privacy & Security → Clear browsing data or Settings → Storage & performance → Clear space, or uninstall the App to delete data in its private directories. To request deletion assistance, withdraw consent, or exercise other rights, contact us using the method in Section 14; we will respond within 15 working days. Files saved in the public Downloads folder must be deleted through your system file manager.

9. Your rights

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you have the right to know about, decide on, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal information; to access, copy, correct, supplement, or delete your information; and to withdraw consent. You can manage bookmarks, history, cache, and downloads directly in the App. Because the App has no account system, no account cancellation is required. To delete data or withdraw consent, stop using and uninstall the App, or contact us under Section 14; we will respond within 15 working days. If you believe our processing has harmed your lawful rights, contact us through the developer contact details on the App's store listing, or complain to a competent regulator.

10. Children's Personal Information Protection Rules (under 14)

The App is not directed to children under 14 and does not actively collect children's personal information. If you are under 14, use the App only with a parent or guardian, who must read and agree to these rules before the child uses the App.

How we handle children's information: The App does not require registration or login and does not collect a child's name, phone number, identity documents, contacts, precise location, photos, camera, or microphone data. It does not integrate advertising, personalized recommendations, or third-party analytics SDKs. Bookmarks, recent history, settings, download records, cookies, site data, and cache are stored only on the device and are used only to provide browsing, bookmarks, downloads, translation, reader mode, and related features.

Third-party services: When a child visits websites, searches, translates, downloads, or uses magnet/BT features, related data may be sent to the corresponding websites or third-party services (see Section 6). Guardians should guide children to avoid entering sensitive information, downloading files from unknown sources, and to disable P2P where appropriate.

Guardian rights: Guardians can access, correct, or delete bookmarks, history, downloads, and cache in the App, uninstall the App to delete data in its private directories, or ask us for deletion guidance under Section 14. We will respond within 15 working days. If you discover that a child has used the App without guardian consent, contact us so we can help delete local data.

Retention and security: Children's data is stored only on the device, and cache is cleaned daily. We do not create child accounts or cloud copies. Guardians should keep the device and unlock credentials secure.

11. Security and risk notice

The App enables HTTPS-first, encrypted DNS, tracking protection, content blocking, and Safe Browsing by default to reduce the risks of plaintext transmission, DNS hijacking, and malicious sites. No browser or network transmission can be absolutely secure. Remain alert to phishing sites, malicious downloads, fake login pages, and public-network risks. Do not enter passwords, verification codes, or payment information on untrusted pages.

12. Cross-border processing

We do not ourselves transfer your local data across borders. However, when you use page translation, certain search engines, Safe Browsing, or visit overseas websites, related data may be processed by third-party services located outside your region, subject to their privacy policies. If you do not agree to cross-border transfer, do not use the relevant features.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy due to feature changes, legal developments, or security adjustments. Updated versions will be published in the App with a new update and effective date. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide a reasonable in-app notice and, where required, obtain your consent again. Continuing to use the App means you accept the updated policy; if you do not agree, stop using and uninstall the App.

14. Contact us

The developer and data controller of the App is Zou Fengyu (邹丰宇). Contact email: mokuthestudio2020@163.com. You can also contact us through the support channel listed on the app's store listing for questions about privacy, deletion of personal information, children's personal information protection, or this policy. We will respond within 15 working days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to a competent regulator or bring a lawsuit before a competent people's court at the operator's domicile.

The Simplified Chinese version of this policy is the controlling version. This English version is provided for convenience. If there is any inconsistency, the Simplified Chinese version prevails.
